Today, Bishop Duca and I visited Bishop Glenn Provost and Fr. Ruben Buller of the Diocese of Lake Charles to extend our love and support during these most difficult times. While I have lived in the direct path of several of them (Katrina, Gustav, Andrew), I was brought to tears at the devastation in Lake Charles. So many homes and businesses have been utterly destroyed.
I presented a check to Bishop Provost from St. Margaret along with gift cards from our parish and more from Immaculate Conception in Denham Springs as a small way to show our support and to help those in need.
Lake Charles and its citizens really could use our help! Several posts will be forthcoming outlining ways that YOU can make a difference. Continue to support our “Helping Hands Ministry” with gift card purchases and cash contributions. But we’ll also need cooking and work crews to go on-site and help these friends most in need. No way of helping is too small!
Pray for quick recovery for these friends!
