This past Saturday, St. Margaret took 12 of her youth group members to St. Michael High School in Baton Rouge’s MP3 Event. MP3 is for high school students and provides an atmosphere of music, prayer, praise, and play.

On this particular evening, there were about 250 teenagers present from around the diocese. The youth heard a reflection by Deacon Albert Blount, competed in games, and praised our Lord in Adoration with a live band.

Here is what some of our participants had to say about the event:

“The experience as a whole was so fantastic it’s hard to pick just one part, but if I had to, I would pick the Adoration segment. Adoration at MP3 feels indescribably powerful, like you can really connect with Christ on a level much deeper than normal. The combination of everyone there being focused and in-tune to what was going on, the music, the encouragement to enter deeper into Adoration, the presence of all the priests and deacons, and the general sense of communion… it’s simply unrivaled by anything I’ve ever seen or experienced.” -Michael Brook

“The most impactful part of the MP3 has to be Adoration. Being in a room with hundreds of teens being moved by the presence of Jesus Christ, a wonderful band, and dynamic deacons is such an amazing experience to be part of, and to see others pray intensely and me praying with them face to face with our God gave me a wonderful sense of community, and I am very glad to have been a part of that!” -Josh Thiel

“The Adoration experience was most impactful for me!” -Abry Layrisson

“Talking to Mr. Kevin [McCall] was so cool. It was really interesting to talk with him.” -Hunter Layrisson
