Dear Parishioners and Friends:

Hurricane Ida is forecast to make landfall on the Louisiana coast this Sunday evening as a Major Hurricane. Effects from the storm are anticipated throughout the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Since the entirety of the area is currently under a Hurricane Warning, tropical storm conditions are possible throughout our area late Saturday night and Sunday. To protect the faithful in these deteriorating conditions, Bishop Duca has dispensed the faithful from their obligation to attend Mass this weekend. He has given pastors permission to celebrate a Vigil Mass, so at St. Margaret, we WILL celebrate the 4:00PM Vigil Mass on Saturday, 28 August 2021 at St. Margaret. If you cannot attend in person, you’re invited to participate online via livestream. Remember the obligation does not stand this weekend, and please use good judgement in determining should you attend this liturgy.

Please observe the following cancellations:

1. There will be no Mass on Sunday, 29 August 2021 at St. Thomas Chapel at 8:00AM or St. Margaret at 10:00AM and 5:30PM. There will also be no 7:00AM Mass on Monday, 30 August 2021 at St. Margaret.

2. All Parish School of Religion (PSR) classes are cancelled this weekend.

3. The Family Faith Formation session on Sunday is cancelled.

4. The Parish Office will remain closed on Monday.

Further news about cancellations and the campus status will be communicated as we are able after this weather event.

Parishioners are encouraged to pray through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor for safety from this storm. Please be safe and healthy!
